Record Breaking Brangus Showing at Beef 2012

The Landmark Stud Cattle Competition at Beef Australia 2012 will go down in the Brangus history books as the largest showing of Brangus cattle in Australia to date. 
A record number of approximately 230 Brangus exhibits saw the Brangus breed come in as the third largest breed on display at Beef 2012.

 Thirty nine studs from throughout Queensland, New South Wales and as far south as Victoria, made the journey to Rockhampton to compete in this prestigious event and support the 6th World Brangus Congress which was run in conjunction with Beef 2012.
 
Judge, Brett Nobbs, Nobbs Cattle Co and NCC Brahmans, Duaringa Queensland, was given the task of sorting through this elite field of Brangus cattle.
 
The Grand Champion Female trophy was awarded to the Senior Champion Female, Chadwick Downs Red Raphael D282, exhibited by Chadwick Downs Cattle Co, who was sired by Redline Beaumont 525, out of the dam Greendale Raphael V117. Judge, Brett Nobbs was impressed by her overall volume and confirmation and also the job she had done on her impressive young bull calf, Chadwick Downs Raphael G219, at foot.
 
The Senior Champion Bull, Redline Gundie, exhibited by Peter & Kristine Dingle, Redline Brangus, claimed the title of Grand Champion Bull. This 30 month old bull was sired by Chadwick Downs Red Cognac out of the dam Redline 734. Mr Nobbs commented that the bull had great maturity, muscle and weight for age combined with good eye muscle area, smooth fat cover and excellent structural and reproductive soundness.
 
Congratulations to all exhibitors on what was an outstanding showcase of the Brangus breed in Australia and many thanks for supporting the 6th World Brangus Congress.
