The Gympie Carcass Classic Committee would like to extend their sincere thanks to our stalwart Sponsors, Exhibitors, Supporters, High Schools and Public for another successful competition in the 2022 year.

Cattle will again be housed in Robert Maudsley’s Waterfall Feedlot at Goomeri using bunks. The cattle will be custom fed for 80 days.

The Carcass Classic Committee has changed a little from the previous year.

Emma Franz is our 2023 year Co-Ordinator continuing on with Nev Zerner as our Treasurer. Other Committee Members include Hayden Pratt, Barry McIntyre and Gympie District Beef Liaison President Jim Viner.

Gympie Veterinary Services will continue to be our esteemed Vet Sponsors donating their time and travel on a regular basis to inspect the health of our cattle entries at the Feedlot.

ASSEMBLY AND LIVE ASSESSMENTS’ DAY will be held at the WOOLOOGA SALE YARDS ON TUESDAY, April 18, 2023. Cattle MUST BE DELIVERED to the WOOLOOGA SALE YARDS prior to 9.30 am TUESDAY, April 18. For any deliveries prior to Tuesday, please contact one of the Committee Members listed on Page 5.

On this day, a BBQ and Drinks will be provided for benefit of attendees courtesy of stalwart SPONSORS, NUTRIEN AG SOLUTIONS, GYMPIE. The cattle will be available for viewing with the LIVE CATTLE ASSESSMENTS conducted on this Tuesday between 10 am and 12 noon prior to the cattle being transported in the afternoon courtesy of Warrego Livestock Transport to the Goomeri Feedlot.

All cattle will be checked by our Gympie Veterinary Service veterinarians to assess the health of the cattle prior to entry into the feedlot. The cattle will be fed hay overnight, followed by weighing and inducting at the feedlot on Wednesday, 19 April, 2023 by Veterinarians and Feedlot Staff with various health treatments being administered on the Wednesday morning.

A Committee Member will contact you prior to 24th March to arrange a PRE-VACCINATION AND EAR TAGGING DATE.

FEED AND INDUCTION COSTS will be advised to all Exhibitors approximately one month prior to Induction OR as soon as the Gympie Carcass Classic has been informed of same.
