Practical Systems welcomes Brangus Australia to the forefront of livestock data management

Brangus Australia has cemented its place at the forefront of modern livestock data management by partnering with one of Australia’s leading providers of on-farm software, Practical Systems.

For more than 25 years, Practical Systems has offered innovative data solutions for livestock, financial and farm management.

“We are delighted to formally join with Brangus Australia in this important relationship for Practical Systems,” says CEO of Practical Systems, Peter Rasmussen.

“We place real value in establishing a relationship that connects what we do directly with breed society members and enables us to ensure our services align with their objectives for the national herd.”

Mr Rasmussen says Practical Systems provides technology solutions and advice that enable producers to convert raw data into actionable decisions that can benefit their business. Understanding the specific breed objectives is critical to staying relevant.

“We have a long history of being a trusted service provider to the livestock industry. To ensure that tradition continues, we believe it is critical to focus on how we can help improve the performance and viability of the national herd and individual producer operations,” Mr Rasmussen said.

“Practical Systems is supporting Brangus Australia’s breed objectives with intelligence that provides tangible decision-making support to improve the performance of their key business asset – livestock in the paddock.”

CEO of Brangus Australia Tessa Pearson said the agreement was an important step for the Association, building on the strong performance of the Brangus breed in the areas of genetics and carcass quality over recent years.

Mrs Pearson noted the capacity to tailor technology from Practical Systems to further the goals of both the producer and the breed as a whole is exciting. Practical Systems is supporting Brangus producers with intelligence that provides tangible decision-making support to improve the performance of their key business asset – livestock in the paddock.

“This partnership will provide our members with the ability to record large volumes of data which can be integrated with their existing on-property management systems and (as a result) leverage individual animal management,” she said.

Mrs Pearson says that providing an accurate and consistent record-keeping program for all members will help the breed achieve consistent profitability and marketability. It will also use the increased data collection to set future breed objectives.

“We place real value in establishing a relationship that connects what we do directly with breed society members and enables us to ensure our services align with their objectives for the national herd.”

“The benefits of Brangus are well known throughout the industry but having quality data sets across all members means we can clearly identify the strengths of Brangus cattle to the broader industry. It will enable us to continue to improve opportunities within the industry for our breeders.” “We will analyse the data and use the results to help set the direction of our marketing,” says Ms Pearson.

“Practical Systems is a trusted provider for Brangus Australia, and we look forward to this partnership strengthening.”
