ROCKHAMPTON BRANGUS SALE ENTRIES OPEN

Dear Members,

The 45th Rockhampton Brangus Sale will be held on Monday 11th & Tuesday 12th of October 2021.

To alleviate any delays with post, this year’s Entry Forms will be electronic. Any entry form received after the close of entry will not be accepted.

ENTRIES CLOSE FRIDAY 16th JULY 2021


Please note that there have been several changes to the Conditions of Sale in the last 2 years, please see the changes listed below;

2. Sale nominations close on
FRIDAY 16th JULY 2021. Nominations must be completed online or completed forms must be RETURNED TO THE ABCA. Sale applications received after the closing date will not be accepted. Entry fees must accompany the entry nominations and payment can be made by cheque, credit card details or by depositing the FULL amount into the ABCA account. Please ensure that you reference your deposit with your Herd ID.

7. The entry fees are as follows;
Registered Bulls $137.50
Herd Bulls $200
Registered Females $77.50
Semen Packages (10 x straws) $22
Embryo Packages (4 x embryos) $55

Entry fees include entry to the sale, animal images published online & transfers after sale.

15. All Registered Bulls MUST have a Brangus Genomic Bundle (100K or 50K SNP, PV, Poll/Horn, Coat & Tenderness tests) competed. The Brangus Genomic Bundle must be requested through the ABCA prior to nominations closing and must be completed by the time of sale.

16. All bulls must be available for scanning and weighing at sale yards by 9am Sunday 10th October, the sale yard weights and scanned details will used for the supplementary sheet, at the completion of scanning & weighing all information for supplementary sheets are to be handed to an ABCA staff member.

18. All Bulls at Association Sales must be inspected by ACV Accredited Vet for a Veterinary Bull Breeding Soundness Evaluation (VBBSE) which will include a Semen test within six weeks of the sale. A copy of the Veterinary reports must be forwarded to the ABCA by Thursday 7th October 2021 and the originals given to the Sale Committee at the sale yards, prior to sale.

19. All bulls at Association Sales must gave a Semen test result of 60% or above.

A reminder that DNA testing must be sent to the ABCA office at the below address;

Samples must be submitted using the Neogen Hair Collection Cards, TSUs or semen straws. An ABCA DNA Application Form must accompany the samples.

Please allow 6-8 weeks for DNA results to be available from time of submission.

2021 SALE CATALOGUE

This year’s sale catalogue will be A4 and full colour. There is an opportunity for vendors to place images of sale animals within the catalogue (there will 8 images to a page with each image clearly labelled with the lot details).

Images will need to be provided by the Vendor and will be $150 each. There are limited spaces available so if you would like to secure an image, please email
tessa@brangus.com.au ASAP.

The changes in the catalogue have also provided Vendors with an opportunity to place adverts in the catalogue. Below is the Advertising Prospectus and form if you are interested in booking an advert in the catalogue.

DNA TESTING PROCESS ABCA have made the following changes to the DNA Testing Process to implement an effective and efficient process. By implementing these changes, the DNA testing process can become more efficient - resulting in quicker sample arrival at the lab reduced risk of sample damage minimized discrepancies ultimately benefiting the members and enhancing overall experience Members are asked to adhere to the following process when submitting requests for DNA testing.
