Rockhampton Show Brangus Feature

Organisation is in full swing for the 2023 Rockhampton Show being held on the 14th of June.


The eager group of Rockhampton Show Society volunteers are working hard to bring together a show which continues to attract high profile competition, exciting entertainment and whole-hearted family fun. They are expecting this years’ show to be another great success with a number of new attractions and ideas to spark the interest of our competitors, exhibitors and spectators.


Regulations for Feature Show Exhibits

The below regulations are enforced for all Feature Show Exhibits.


  1. Registered and Foundation cattle may be exhibited at any local, feature or royal show provided both parents are of Brangus or Ultra breeding. No progeny of parent breeds (Brahman or Angus) can be shown at any show or cattle exhibition in Australia except for entries in trade cattle classes. Enrolled cattle may not be exhibited in registered classes. All cattle exhibited in registered Brangus classes must have a Brahman blood percentage less than 25% or greater than 75%.
  2. All animals exhibited at Beef Australia, Royal Shows & Brangus Feature Shows in Junior, Intermediate or Senior classes must have the results of a Brangus Bundle DNA test recorded.
  3. Females being exhibited as in calf at Beef Australia, Royal Shows & Brangus Feature Shows must be accompanied by a positive PTIC Vet Certificate. Females exhibited without a PTIC result will be considered empty.
  4. Breed uniform must be worn at Beef Australia and any Feature Shows.

DNA TESTING PROCESS ABCA have made the following changes to the DNA Testing Process to implement an effective and efficient process. By implementing these changes, the DNA testing process can become more efficient - resulting in quicker sample arrival at the lab reduced risk of sample damage minimized discrepancies ultimately benefiting the members and enhancing overall experience Members are asked to adhere to the following process when submitting requests for DNA testing.
